Louey and the Mid-Week Meeting

I spotted Louey out of the corner of my eye while sitting by the pool today reading my book on Quantum Physics. It's a curious book by the way. The author uses a scientific term, explains what it means, I read it twice, and understand nothing. Ready to put the book down and give up, I have an idea. Why not look up the word in a dictionary? I do that and the dictionary makes it crystal clear. It makes me suspect this author knows physics better than he knows English expression.

But back to Louey. Every so often one sees a lizard or two on the grass. When you approach they panic and race away all legs flapping. Not Louey the Lizard. He seemed to understand I was harmless and allowed me to approach and video him munch on lunch as much as I wanted. I share this sample with you ...

Louey the Lawn Lizard

At our mid-week meeting this evening we met more brothers and sisters we hadn't seen for a year. One single Mexican brother introduced me to his fiancée which was a pleasant development. Before coming into the truth this brother once found himself very much in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was in a part of town where police suddenly drove up in several cars to arrest a bunch of drug dealers. A gun fight broke out with shots being fired in all directions. He ran for his life but was shot twice in the back. Amazingly no vital organs were damaged and he was able to keep fleeing the scene and get medical help.

You might wonder what part of Mexico he was in when this happened. He was in Chicago, USA.

We enjoyed our meeting very much this evening although I was unable to get picked for a comment I wanted to make. So I'll make it here.

Some people ask, "If the story of the Flood is true, where did all the water go?" In Genesis 8:13 it says it "drained from the earth." Water only drains when going to a lower level. So where did lower levels come from all of a sudden? Logically, with water being so heavy, and at Jehovah's time for it, weaker parts of the earth's crust would have buckled under the weight creating basins for the water to drain into, forming the oceans.

Even so, 70% of the earth's surface is currently covered with water. So if someone asks, "Where did all the water go?" we can say, "As a matter of fact, it's still there."

Maybe a better question is, 'Since Noah was instructed to cover the ark, inside and out with tar, or in some translations, bitumen, or pitch, and since the dictionary describes all three as "black," why do we always see illustrations of the ark with beige wood surfaces? Wouldn't it have been as black as a lump of coal?
