What a slow moving blog this has become as our days here dwindle down to a few!

It has become sunny days and palling around with our brothers and sisters who also winter here. In fact every Friday morning at 9:00 a.m., at Deborah's Restaurant, those who are available commandeer a long table and have breakfast together. Many choose a house specialty with breakfast, green juice. It looks
like swamp scum but is a blend of green vegetable juices that
supposedly are good for the physical organism. For me it was
drinkable but lit no internal chandeliers.

One of the couples here, Gilles and Joyce, invited us to their condo for a supper, and an enjoyable evening it was. I'm afraid I failed as a photographer on that occasion but here is one photo from their balcony ...

This place is quiet and picturesque with attractive
condos. It is also a 15 minute walk from the ocean.

Speaking of the ocean it has been noisy with bully waves lately. A video sample follows ...

The people on the beach give scale to the waves that
are bigger than they are. I slowed the last wave and
that did something weird to the sound.

Besides looking down I also took the following video looking up. Maybe I need to be more active because I seem to be attracting birds of prey.


Soon, in Zihuatanejo, there will be a music festival of sorts. We'll see what that is like, take photos, and report on it.

This morning Carol, her sister Linda, and I went in the public ministry together. Other attendees at the service group had arrangements so the three of us flagged a taxi to our territory. We knew it was on the side of a mountain so the strategy was to have the taxi take us to an upper area so we could work our way down without excessive hill climbing. No, that didn't work. According to our territory map the streets we encountered were inaccurate. Consulting Google Maps on my handy iphone confirmed that while our territory map did contain an occasional street name indicating we were in the right area, its configuration was clearly of a different persuasion. When a local taxi driver cannot figure out what is on your territory map you know you're in trouble. Locating one key street, we disembarked with what we thought was a plan. We'd work a cross street then continue working the first downhill street we found. Except every corner led to an uphill street. Oh, the downhill...

We're just back from our Sunday-Meeting-On-A-Saturday. Not only did we listen to a fine Public Talk but after the meeting our visiting speaker could be seen sweeping the floor. I thought, "What a good example he's setting. Maybe I should look for a broom and join in." Then I thought, "No, I've got a better idea. I'll take out my phone instead and snap a picture." Hey, the sweeping was almost finished. Yes, that's Carol speaking with Pat White in the background on the left. I acknowledge yesterday I may have left some readers wondering about the exterior finish on Noah's ark. Further research into available Watchtower publication illustrations has revealed the following ... The Past Few Days

Today started off with melancholy as Andrew, Helena, Alexandria, and Olivia brought their luggage to a waiting taxi at our building entrance and drove off to the airport for their flight home. We much enjoyed the treat of spending time with them especially in this setting. It slowed the progress of this blog so  a little catching up now follows. Late Sunday afternoon included a little souvenir shopping for our visitors ... At one kiosk I got into a conversation with a Mexican fellow and after a while I asked him his name. He said, "Edwin, and what is your name, sir?" "Edwin," I said. "Yes sir, that is my name: Edwin. And what is your name?" "Edwin." He looked at me puzzled. "Your name is Edwin?" He appeared to think I was kidding him. "Yes, my name is Edwin too," I said. He pulled out his wallet and showed me an ID card with his name on it and I sensed he wanted me to do likewise to prove I wasn't joking....
